KISHOREGANJ, May 11, 2025 (BSS) - Three farmers were killed and another injured in separate lightning strikes in different upazilas across the district today.
The deceased were identified as Faisal Mia, 28, son of Yunus Mia of Srinagar village; Faruk Mia, 65, son of Afsar Uddin Mia of Rasulpur village-both under Bhairab upazila; and Kabir Mia, 25, son of Shafiqul Islam Shofu Mia of Hazarinar village in Kuliarchar upazila.
According to locals, the three were working in the fields when they were struck by lightning and critically injured. They were rushed to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty doctor declared them dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, Abu Bakar, 60, of Araibaria village in Hossainpur upazila was injured in another lightning strike while working at field. He is currently receiving treatment at Hossainpur Upazila Health Complex.
