Carpenter electrocuted to death in Patuakhali

PATUAKHALI, May 11, 2025 (BSS) - A carpenter died today after being electrocuted while renovating the tin-roof of a house in Nimdi village under Bauphal upazila of the district.

Police identified the deceased as Mohammad Sabuj, 47, son of Kader Chowkider from Betagi Sankipura village in Dashmina upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bauphal police station Akteruzzaman Sarkar confirmed the matter to the media. 

Police said, “While Sabuj was renovating the roof of the house of Abul Hossain in the village, his hand came in contact with a live electric wire.” 

Later, locals rescued him and took him to the upazila health complex, where the duty doctor Dr. Soeb Mahmud declared him dead.
