Bodies of two missing brothers recovered in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, May 12, 2025 (BSS) - Police recovered the bodies of two brothers who went missing while bathing in the Brahmaputra River at Ulipur upazila of the district last Saturday

The deceased were identified as Ibrahim, 12 and Imran Hossain, 8. 

The bodies of two brothers were recovered from the Paler Ghat area of Hatia union of the upazila around 7 am, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ulipur Police Station Zillur Rahman.

Earlier, they drowned in the Brahmaputra River around 3 pm last Saturday while taking bath at Char Jalangarkuthi village under Buraburi union of the upazila. 

Being informed, a Fire Service diving team and locals searched extensively but could not find them. 

Later, on Monday morning, residents of the Paler Ghat area spotted the bodies floating in the river, approximately three kilometers downstream from where they had gone missing and immediately informed police.
