2 motorcyclists killed in Rangpur road accident

RANGPUR, May 12, 2025 (BSS) - Two motorcyclists were killed in a head-on collision between a night coach and a motorcycle at the Mirbag Bijoler Ghanti Burail Bridge point on the Rangpur-Kurigram highway under Kawnia upazila here last night.
 
"The incident took place around 11:30 pm on Sunday, killing the two motorcycle riders on the spot," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kawnia Police Station Abdul Latif Shah told BSS this afternoon.
 
The deceased are Belal Hossain, 45, son of the late Azimuddin of Chandrakhana Masterpara village and Sanjay Kumar Roy, 42, son of Nibaran Chandra Roy of Kabir Mamud village in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district.
 
Later, police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and handed them over to the relatives of the deceased persons.
 
"A case has been filed under the Road Transport Act-2018 at Kawnia Police Station in this incident," the OC added.
