Bakery shop fined Tk 30,000 in Bogura

BOGURA, May 12, 2025 (BSS) - A shop ‘Swarna Bakery and Food Products’ was fined Tk 30,000 and was temporary sealed off for producing and processing food in an unhygienic environment in the Kagoil area under Gabtali upazila of the district today.

Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) and National Consumers' Right Protection in Bogura took the measures during a drive here today.

Assistant Director of the Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection in Bogura Mohammad Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter.

He said, “Significant irregularities and an unhygienic environment were observed in food production and preservation during the drive. The shop was fined under the Consumer Rights Protection Act.”
