Adulterated fish feed seized, fined Tk 30,000 in Kolaroa upazila

SATKHIRA, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - A task force today seized 3000 sacks of adulterated fish feed and fined Tk 30,000 to M/s Bhai Bhai Fish feed for selling adulterated feeds among fish cultivators in the district.

The task force comprising Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Police and Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institute (BSTI) led by Kolaroa upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Nusrat Jahan conducted at Bhai Bhai Traders at 3:30 pm.

According to BGB official, the team seized 3,000 bags of adulterated fish feed, which is harmful to the human body, unhealthy for environment and without BSTI approval.

He said Bhai Bhai Fish Feed trader was selling fish feeds without BSTI approval and violating the Food Production Act.

The team also fined Tk. 30,000 to owner of "M/s Bhai Bhai Fish Feed" Md Tariqul Islam as per law.

Among others, BGB Satkhira Battalion (BGB 33) Assistant Director Beg Abdullah Al Masum, police personnel and BSTI Khulna Field Officer Md Abdul Mannan were present during the raid.
