Army provides free treatments to 500 patients, food in Ghoraghat

RANGPUR, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army provided treatments and
medicines to some 500 patients at a free medical and medicine distribution
camp held at the Osmanpur Army Camp in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur on
Sunday.
 
The 66 Infantry Division of Rangpur Area of Bangladesh Army organised the
camp as a part of its humanitarian program to stand beside the suffering
people.
 
In addition, food items were distributed to more than 200 helpless families
of the area.
 
Commanding Officer of 10 Field Ambulance Lt Col AKM Alamgir Hossain and
Commanding Officer of 25 Bir Support Battalion of the 66 Infantry Division Lt
Col Morsalin Mahmud, were present at the event.
 
Second-in-Command of 25 Bir Support Battalion Major Nur Shaheed Farabi, Major
Nazmul Hasan (area headquarters) and Doctors Major Mostafiz, Major Ataur,
Captain Amir and Captain Sadia and journalists from Rangpur were present.
 
In addition to medical services, the army's medical team also provided advice
on general disease prevention, health awareness and primary care.
 
Long lines of people coming to the camp for healthcare services were seen
since morning.
 
The locals were full of praise for the army and told reporters that such
initiatives are very beneficial for the common people of local villages.
 
They used to have to go to the city to get medical treatment, but they got it
within their reach free of cost today.
 
They also commented that this humanitarian activity of the Bangladesh Army
has become a shining example of standing by the people, not just limited to
healthcare.
 
Army officials also said that such activities will continue in the future.
