DoE cracks down on illegal brick kilns in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, May 19, 2025 (BSS) - Department of Environment (DoE) conducted a mobile court against illegal brick kilns in Melandah Upazila in the district this afternoon.

Led by Executive Magistrate Kishor Kumar Das, the mobile court conducted raids on Bismillah Bricks and Sheikh Bricks, both found operating without legal clearance. 

The kilns were subsequently demolished and their electricity connections were severed for violating environmental regulations. Bismillah Bricks was also fined Tk 2 lakh for operating illegally.

Senior Chemist of the DoE, AKM Samiul Alam Kursy, was present during the operation.
