Govt distributes 39 cows among small ethnic groups in Natore

NATORE, May 21, 2025 (BSS) - The government today distributed heifer calves 
among 39 small ethnic group people to improve the socio-economic and living 
standards of the backward people living in the plain land of Singra upazila 
of the district.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Majharul Islam distributed the cows as the 
chief guest among the people at a function held at the premises of Veterinary 
Hospital of the upazila at 11 am.

The UNO said that the interim government distributed the cows to make the 
underprivileged small ethnic groups self-reliant.

Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Tashriful Islam said the cows have been 
distributed under the 'Integrated Livestock Development Project' with the aim 
of improving the socio-economic and living standards of the backward small 
ethnic group people living in the plain land.

Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Shahadat Hossain, Upazila Additional 
Agriculture Officer Mahmudul Hasan, Upazila Social Service Officer Abu Daud 
and Upazila Animal Resources Department Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Md. Yunus Ali 
were present, among others.
