Woman electrocuted in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 21, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was electrocuted after coming into contact with an electric pole while walking on a waterlogged road in the Mehedibagh area of Chattogram on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Jannatul Ferdous, 45, daughter of late Md Siraj hailed from Noapara area under Raozan upazila of the district.

Sub Inspector Nurul Alam Ashek, in-charge of Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) said Jannatul Ferdous fell unconscious after inadvertently coming into contact with the electric pole while walking on the waterlogged road.

Locals rescued her and rushed to CMCH where on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Earlier, two people died after touching an electrified wire in rainwater at Basharvila on MM Ali Road under Chawkbazar Police Station in the city on Sunday morning.
