3 leaders of banned AL’s associate bodies held in Khulna

KHULNA, May 21, 2025 (BSS) – Police today arrested three leaders of banned Awami League’s associate organizations from Harintana area in the city.

The arrestees were identified as Abdul Gafur Molla, 54, ex-general secretary of banned Khulna district unit Motsojibi League, Miraz Sheikh, 33, ex-member secretary of banned Muktijoddha Projonmo League and Anisur Rahman, 42,  ex- finance secretary of Fultala upazila Jubo League, said a Khulna Metropolitan Police(KMP) press release this evening.

On April 20, some leaders and activists of banned AL and its associate organizations brought out a brisk procession at Harintana area in the city to create an unstable situation, police said.

Police arrested them in a raid in Harintana area, said the press release, adding that police earlier arrested 50 more leaders and activists of banned AL’s associate organizations.
