Nazrul's 126th birth anniversary on May 24

KHULNA, May 22, 2025 (BSS) - The 125th birth anniversary of National Poet 
Kazi Nazrul Islam will be celebrated here like elsewhere in the country on 
Sunday (May 24) in a befitting manner.

To mark the day, Bangladesh Shishu Academy of Khulna will organize various 
competitions includes 14 line poem recitation from 'Lichu Chor' of Kazi 
Nazrul Islam for section 'A' from nursery class to class three, 18 line poem 
recitation from 'Sankolpo' for section 'B' from class four to six and poem 
recitation from 'Nari' for section 'C' from class seven to 10.

The cultural organisation will arrange an essay competition about the rebel 
poet Kazi Nazrul (Below 60 wards) for section 'B' from class four to six and 
'Nazruler Sahitte Bangladesh' for section 'C' from class seven to 10 (Below 
1,000 wards) on the day.

Aspirant contestants have been asked to submit essays by noon on May 24 at 
the Khulna Shishu Academy Office with their names along with parents, 
classes, role numbers and mobile phone numbers while the students who would 
contest for poem recitation would have registered their names at the same 
office 20 minutes before of the competition begins.

A discussion, cultural function and prize distribution ceremony will also be 
held at the same venue at 5.00 pm on May 24 to mark the birth anniversary of 
the National Poet.
