Woman electrocuted in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, July 9, 2025 (BSS) - A woman died after being electrocuted at Sonakhali village under Shyamnagar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Arifa Rupban, 55, wife of Zahur Ali Mollah of the same area.

Arifa got electrocuted around 12.30 after getting entangled in an electric trap set to control rat infestation at a chicken farm of the village.

Locals quickly rescued and took her to Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex, where she died.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shyamnagar Police Station Md. Humayon Kabir Molla confirmed the matter and said further legal action is under process.
