Sylhet gets new DC, incumbent made OSD

DHAKA, Aug 18, 2025 (BSS) - The government has appointed Md Sarwoer Alam as the new deputy commissioner (DC) of Sylhet district.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard today.

Prior to the appointment, Md Sarwoer Alam had been serving as deputy secretary (attached) to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, it added.

The order, issued in the public interest, will come into immediate effect.

In another notification, signed by deputy secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, it was stated that the incumbent Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Sher Mahbub Murad, has been made officer on special duty (OSD) at the ministry.
