Court seizes tax files of ex-DB chief Harun Ur Rashid

DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to seize tax files of former chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's detective branch (DB) Mohammad Harun Ur Rashid.

Judge Md Sabbir Faiz of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The petition states that accused Mohammad Harun Ur Rashid abused his power to acquire and possess wealth worth Taka 17.51 crore beyond his known sources of income. 

It said that, for the sake of proper investigation, it is essential to seize and examine his income tax returns and other relevant records.
