Health Minister for bringing mushrooming clinics under monitoring, regulation

DHAKA, March 10, 2026 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain today stressed the need for monitoring and bringing the mushrooming private clinics across the country under proper regulation.

He made the call while speaking at an iftar gathering organised by the Private Hospital, Clinic and Diagnostic Association at a city hotel.

The minister said the private sector must be given due attention to improve the country's healthcare services.

"With the cooperation of all of you (Private Hospital, Clinic and Diagnostic Association), we want to ensure that healthcare services reach the doorsteps of the people," he said.

The programme was chaired by association president Dr Mosaddek Hossain Biswas.

Association Secretary General Dr A M Shamim, chief adviser of DAB and member of the BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council Prof. Dr. Farhad Halim Donar, Member of Parliament Dr Mahbubur Rahman Liton and central and district-level leaders of the Private Hospital, Clinic and Diagnostic Association, among others, attended the event.
