Month-long tree fair begins in Cumilla

CUMILLA, July 11, 2025 (BSS) – A month-long tree fair and tree plantation campaign was inaugurated in the district with the theme of "Planned Afforestation, Build a Green Bangladesh".

The district administration and the social forest department organized the fair at the town hall ground.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Pankaj Barua inaugurated the fair as the chief guest at a function on Thursday at Cumilla Club hall room with Divisional Forest Officer GM Mohammad Kabir in the chair.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shamim Kuddus Bhuiyan, Additional Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Anwarul Islam Jewel and Range Officer of Cumilla Social Forestry Division Dilip Kumar Das were present, among others.

The fair will continue for a month. At the fair, various nurseries of the district are getting the opportunity to display and sell their produced fruit, forest, medicinal and ornamental tree saplings.
