NETROKONA, July 11, 2025 (BSS) – An elderly man died and 12 others were injured after a bus carrying a groom's party lost control and fell into a roadside ditch at Chuchua village under Sadar upazila here this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Kabir Mia, 65, a resident of Munshipur village under Atpara upazila of the district.
Officer-in-Charge of Netrokona Model Police Station, Kazi Shahnewaz said the accident occurred when the bus carrying grooms family members fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering. The groom’s uncle Kabir died on the spot and 12 others were injured.
The injured were taken to Netrokona Hospital for treatment.
