Fire in Ctg Karnaphuli EPZ brought under control

CHATTOGRAM, July 11, 2025 (BSS)-A fire broke out at a factory named Zant 
Accessories in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) in the city's 
Patenga area on Friday afternoon.

Eight units of the fire service were able to bring the fire under control at 
a foam factory in the city's KEPZ after about three hours of effort. The 
cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not known.

Divisional Fire Service control room sources said the blaze erupted around 
3pm, prompting the deployment of eight fire-fighting units from various 
stations, including Karnaphuli, EPZ, and Agrabad.

The fire was brought under control by around 6pm. The exact cause of the fire 
and the extent of damage could not be immediately confirmed.
