2 arrested, recovers stolen car in Dinajpur

RANGPUR, July 22, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the ringleader of an organized crime ring along with his associate and recovered a stolen private car in separate drives conducted over two days in Dinajpur district.

The arrested are Md Nur Zaman, 43, of the Diabetes Mour area, and Md Fayyaz Uddin Saju, 35, of West Mission Road area under Kotwali Police Station in Dinajpur, said a RAB press release issued today.

Earlier, one Mohidul Islam Mission filed a case with Hatirjheel Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on October 15, 2024, alleging that his car was stolen on September 18, 2024.

Acting on the case, a team of RAB-13's Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 from Dinajpur Camp arrested Nur Zaman from the Diabetes Mour area at around 8:30pm on Sunday.

Later, the team conducted another raid, and Md Fayyaz Uddin Saju was arrested from the Suihari Khalpar area. The stolen private car was recovered from his possession around 4pm on Monday.

The arrested persons were later handed over to Hatirjheel Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police for legal action, the release added.
