Man gets life term jail in Bogura murder case

BOGURA, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to life term imprisonment in a murder case at Shibganj upazila of the district two decades ago.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Raju Ahmed delivered the verdict this afternoon.

The court also fined convict Azizur Rahman, a resident of Krishnapur of the upazila, Taka one lakh.

According to prosecution, the convict stabbed farmer Anwarul to death on June 1, 2002 over previous enmity.

Police arrested Azizur shortly after the incident and later submitted a charge sheet following investigation.

After reviewing testimonies from 16 witnesses and examining the evidence, the court found Azizur Rahman guilty and sentenced him accordingly, said Additional Public Prosecutor Azad Hossain Talukder.
