Onion seeds, fertilizers distributed among 850 farmers in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - Onion seeds and fertilizers were distributed among 850 farmers of Sadar upazila here today aiming to increase onion cultivation and production in the district.

A total of 850 kg of onion seeds and 34 metric tons of fertilizers were distributed under the agriculture incentive programme of the upazila Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal inaugurated the distribution programme as the chief guest at a function held on the premises of upazila DAE office at 9 am.

Deputy Director of the DAE Shashti Chandra Roy, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hosne Ara, Upazila Agricultural Officer Md. Noor A Nabi and Assistant Agriculture Officer Junaid Habib were present, among others.

Each of the farmers received 1 kg of onion seeds, 20 kg of MOP and 20 kg of DOP fertilizer under the incentive programme in the Kharip-1 season.
