Man, daughter-in-law killed in Madaripur road accident

MADARIPUR, July 24, 2025, (BSS) - A man and his daughter-in-law were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway in Shibchar upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased were Masud Biswas, 55, son of late Dhala Biswas, a resident of Ramakantapur under Saltha upazila in Faridpur district and his daughter-in-law Firoza Begum, 28, wife of Mamun Biswas.

"The accident took place at Kutubpur when a microbus hit a covered van from behind. As the two vehicles remained stationary following the collision, another bus rammed into them, leaving two microbus passengers dead on the spot and 10 others - both microbus and bus passengers - injured," said Zahirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Highway Police Station.

The injured were taken to different hospitals.
