Dinajpur BNP leader Principal Abdul Jabbar passes away

DINAJPUR, Aug 16, 2025 (BSS) — Principal Abdul Jabbar, a member of the Dinajpur District BNP Advisory Council and former President of Zia Parishad, died of old-age complications at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Dhaka this afternoon. 

He was 80.

In a message of condolence, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of veteran politician and educationist Abdul Jabbar.

The BNP secretary general said Principal Abdul Jabbar was a firm believer in the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam and played a key role in building Dinajpur District BNP on a dynamic and solid organizational foundation.

“He also made significant contributions to the democratic movement under the leadership of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia,” Fakhrul said.

The BNP secretary general prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
