Man killed in Netrakona road crash

NETRAKONA, Aug 16, 2025 (BSS) – An elderly man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Sakura area under Sadar upazila here today.

The deceased was Md. Haresh Mia, 60, son of Md. Hasan Ali of Baham village under Kalmakanda upazila of the district.

The accident took place on the Netrokona-Mymensingh highway when a CNG-run auto rickshaw collided head-on with a covered van, leaving two CNG passengers critically injured, said Kazi Shahnewaz, Officer-in-Charge of Netrokona Model Police Station.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared Haresh Mia dead.
