Two healthcare centres fined Tk 75,000 in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Sept 9, 2025 (BSS)- A mobile court of the District Office of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) today fined Taka 75000 in total to a diagnostic centre and a private clinic here for storing expired reagents, medicines and fire extinguishers.

The mobile court, led by Assistant Director of the DNCRP Mohammad Mamunul Hasan, conducted the drive from 10:30am to 1:00pm on Hospital Road in the district town.

Digital Modern Diagnostic Center owner Md. Shahidul Haque Biswas was fined Taka 25,000 for keeping expired reagents in storage and using them.

Besides, City Clinic and Diagnostic Center owner Md. Asgar Ali Biswas was fined Taka 50,000 for storing expired medicines in the operation theater and keeping outdated fire extinguishers.

During the drive, the healthcare centres were instructed to update their documents, replace expired fire extinguishers and refrain from using expired reagents and medicines.

Assistant Director of Department of Environment Naresh Chandra Biswas, Sanitary Inspector of Chuadanga Municipality Nargis Jahan, a CAB representative Rafiqul Islam and a team of the district police were present during the operation.
