Nationwide typhoid vaccination campaign continues across country

DHAKA, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) – The nationwide month-long ‘Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025’ continued across the country with the aim of providing Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) free of cost to over five crore children.

Under the campaign, the government will administer vaccines to children from pre-primary to class nine (or equivalent) at schools and at community-level EPI centres till November 13.

To receive the vaccine, parents or guardians must complete an online registration by submitting the child’s birth registration details at vaxepi.gov.bd.

In Rangamati, Typhoid Vaccination Campaign was inaugurated in the district today.

Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Md Mobarak Hossain inaugurated the vaccination programme as the chief guest at Rangamati Government High School this morning. 

Assistant Director of the District Family Planning Office Dr Baby Tripura, Senior Health Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office Khokon Chakma, Headmaster of the Rangamati Government High School Sarit Kumar Chakma, among others, were present at the inauguration ceremony.

District Civil Surgeon Dr. Nuen Khisa presided over the function. The District Health Department informed that a target of bringing 1,54,749 children under the typhoid vaccination programme has been set for this year. 

In Feni, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Golam Md. Baten inaugurated the vaccination campaign this morning at the premises of Feni Shishu Niketan Collectorate School. 

The Health Department said 4,25,437 children in the district will be vaccinated.

Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Rubaiyat Bin Karim said children will get the vaccine from 8 am to 4 pm in every working day from 12 October to 13 November at 1,105 centers of the district. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ismail Hossain, Feni 250-bed General Hospital Superintendent Dr Mohi Uddin, Feni Family Planning Office Deputy Director Mostafiz Rahman Chowdhury, Islamic Foundation Deputy Director Nazmus Shakib, Additional Police Superintendent Saiful Islam were present at the function, among others.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nasrin Sultana Kanta, Sadar Upazila Family Planning Officer Dr Saiful Islam, Sadar Upazila Secondary Supervisor Kamrun Nahar, Feni Municipality Municipal Executive Officer Md Shamsuddin and Medical Officer Dr Krinchapad Saha, Feni Shishu Niketan Collectorate School Acting Headmaster Md Yasin Arafat spoke at the event.

In Lakshmipur, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Md Jasim Uddin inaugurated the vaccination campaign at District Collectorate School and College this morning.

District Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Abu Hasan Shahin presided over the event. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Samrat Khisa, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration-Finance) Hossain Mohammad Raihan Kazemi, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon's Office Dr. Nahid Raihan, along with district and upazila-level officials were present.

This year, 6,29,978 children and adolescents will be given typhoid vaccination in the district.

In Tangail, Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque inaugurated the vaccination programme at Tangail Collectorate Girls High School this morning. 

A total of 10,16,112 children aged between 9 months and 15 years will be brought under typhoid vaccination in phases in a total of 4,403 educational institutions in the district. 

Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) H.M. Mahbub Rezwan Siddiqui, Civil Surgeon Dr. Farazi Muhammad Mahbubul Alam Manju, District Education Officer Rebecca Sultana, officials of the Health Department and guardians were also present at the programme.

In Manikganj, The "Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025" started to vaccinate 4,00,490 children and adolescents boys and girls in all seven upazilas including two Pourashava in the district today.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Manwar Hossein Malla inaugurated the programme at Manikganj Pourasabha area.

In Habiganj, Typhoid vaccination campaign inaugurated in the district today.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Md Faridur Rahman inaugurated the programme at Joynal Abedin Hall of the Biam Laboratory School.

Civil Surgeon Dr Ratnadwip Biswas presided over the programme. Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mukhlisur Rahman and Sadar Hospital Superintendent Dr Aminul Haque Sarkar along with people from various walks of life were present at the time. 

The program will be conducted in a total of 2,711 educational institutions and 1,905 vaccination centers aiming to vaccinate 4,50,501 children. 

In Naogaon, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal inaugurated the vaccination campaign as the chief guest at Chak Enayet Model Government Primary School in the district town this morning.

A total of 6,75,795 children will be vaccinated in the district.

Naogaon Civil Surgeon Dr Aminul Islam, along with Deputy Director of Local Government Department TMA Momin, Deputy Civil Surgeon Munir Ali Akand, officials of various government departments, journalists and teachers and students were present.

Besides, the nationwide campaign continues in Cumilla, Natore, Noakhali, Sherpur, Bagerhat, Kurigram, Faridpur, Rajbari, Chandpur, Chuadanga, Chapainawabganj, Joypurhat, Satkhira, Magura, Jhalokathi and Gazipur.
