Husband arrested for burning wife to death in Nilphamari

RANGPUR, Sept 09, 2025 (BSS) –Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested the prime and fugitive accused of a sensational murder case from Nilphamari district on Monday for his alleged involvement in murdering his wife.
 
The detainee is identified as the victim woman's second husband, Mohammad Ali, 40, son of Md Abuzar Shah of Mouagach Schoolpara village under Badarganj upazila of Rangpur, a press release said today.
 
The release said that the victim was often beaten up after her second marriage, three years ago, to the accused Mohammad Ali and the accused threatened to kill the victim at various times. 
 
The victim's body was found burnt in the corn field of one Harlal in Amrulbari Kamarpara village under Badarganj police station in Rangpur district at 12.30 pm on February 21, 2025.
 
Later, the victim's mother, Mst Farida, filed a murder case with Badarganj Police Station of Rangpur district on February 22, 2025. 
 
On a tip off, the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 team of RAB-13 from Dinajpur Camp conducted a raid in the Telipara Airport area under Saidpur upazila of Nilphamari district and arrested the prime accused Mohammad Ali on September 8 at 03.10 pm.
 
The accused has been handed over to the Saidpur Police Station in Nilphamari for further legal action, the release added.
