Four killed in Gopalganj road crash

GOPALGANJ, Sept 27, 2025 (BSS) - Four people including a couple were killed and four others injured in a road accident near Majhigati Bus Stand under Kashiani upazila of the district this noon.

Three of the deceased were identified as Motaleb Mollah, 70, his wife Delwara Begum, 60, residents of Paikkandi village under Kalkini upazila in Madaripur district and Obaidul Sheikh, 45, son of Abdur Razzak Sheikh of Helencha village in Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur district.

 The identity of another deceased could not be known immediately. 

“The accident took place at 12 noon on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Imad Paribahan’ hit a battery-run easy bike from opposite direction, leaving easy bike passenger Motaleb dead on the spot and seven others injured”, said Kamal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiani Police Station.

The injured were taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex where Delwara Begum succumbed to her injuries.

Obaidul Sheikh and the other one died at Gopalganj General Hospital.
