JU recitation body 'Dhony' gets new executive committee

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Sept 27, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU)-based cultural recitation organisation 'Dhony' has announced its executive committee for the 2025-26 tenure.

Debanjana Deb, a student of the 51st batch from the Department of English of JU, has been elected president while Arpita Pradhan, a student of the 51st batch from the Department of Geography and Environment of JU, made general secretary of the new committee, said a press release here today.

Other office bearers are Vice-President Iffat Sharmin Nijhum, Joint General Secretary Imtiaz Ahmed Shihab, Organising Secretary Masud Rana, Assistant Organising Secretary Nabila Mahmud, Treasurer Zanib Hasan Matia and Assistant Treasurer Rashed Reza.

The committee also named Kazi Jahanara Helen as Office Secretary, Faima Akter Barsha as Assistant Office Secretary, Himadri Shekhar Debnath Badhon as Publicity and Communication Secretary, Md. Angur Mia as Assistant Publicity and Communication Secretary, Mili Akter Srabonti as Literature and Publication Secretary, Najmu Sakib as Assistant Literature and Publication Secretary, Shabab Shahriar Orko as Information and Technology Secretary and Fazle Rabbi as Assistant Information and Technology Secretary.

Besides, the executive members of the new committee are Sumaiya Amin Oishi, Tafria Zerin Raka, Sumit Kundu, Ankhi Akter and Mohini Tamim.
