KHULNA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad today said members of the Ansar and VDP are making a significant contribution to local development and positive social transformation across the country.

“The members of the Ansar and VDP, who are active at every upazila, union and village level, are playing an important role in social change and development through their training and organized activities,” he said.

The DG made the remarks while visiting a basic training programme for upazila-level Ansar members and reviewing the progress of administrative activities at the Khulna range, said a press release this night.

Emphasizing professionalism, discipline, unity and self-reliance, Major General Sajjad said Ansar and VDP act as the closest defence and support force for citizens in ensuring national security and delivering public services.

“One of the key mandates of the force is to transform the socio-economic challenges of the country’s vast youth population into opportunities for prosperity,” he added, stressing the need to uphold unity, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.

He noted that personal discipline is the core strength of the force and that practicing self-discipline and accountability helps members become agents of social change and proud representatives of the organization.

Referring to the Ansar VDP’s ‘Sanjiban Project’, the DG said the initiative has opened avenues for trained members to achieve self-reliance by integrating livelihood opportunities with life skills.

Deputy Director General (Khulna range) M Nurul Hasan Faridi, Director (3 Ansar Battalion) Molla Abu Sayeed, and other senior officials were present during the visit.
