Sarjis calls for maintaining religious harmony during Durga Puja

PANCHAGARH, Sept 29, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam today stressed the need of religious harmony, mutual respect and non-discriminatory practices in advancing the country's progress and ensuring social cohesion.

"We want a Bangladesh where religious harmony, mutual respect and amity are the key guiding principles," he said while speaking to journalists after visiting several Durga Puja temples in Tentulia upazila of the district this afternoon.

Sarjis said while people follow different religious beliefs, it is vital to honour and respect all religions to strengthen mutual relationships and uphold national unity.

"The stronger the mutual relations, the safer and stronger the country will move forward," he added.

During the visit, the NCP leader also provided financial assistance to several Durga temples and exchanged greetings with Hindu community members celebrating Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community.


NCP Tentulia Upazila unit Chief Coordinator Habibur Rahman Habib, district Jubo Shakti Convener Engineer Abu Kayes Babu, and leaders and activists of affiliated organisations were present, among others, on the occasion.
