KURIGRAM, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) - A 42-years-old man and his wife were killed after being struck by lightning at their home in Saheber Alga village under Ulipur upazila of the district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased were identified as Jahangir Hossain, a farmer, and his wife Rubi Begum, 35.
According to locals, the incident occurred around 7:30 pm when a thunder struck the tin-roofed house of Jahangir Hossain while he and his wife were inside. Both were killed on the spot.
Their three children, who were in another room on the same time, remained unharmed.
Confirming the incident, Alga Union Parishad Chairman Mozaffar Hossain said, "We are speechless at this tragic moment. The children have lost their parents and become orphans. The incident has cast a pall of grief over the entire area."
