GAIBANDHA, Oct 3, 2025 (BSS) - A new infrastructure named PALKI (Producers' Assembly Learning Kinfolk) is being constructed at Hazarihat (Kani Charitabari) village in Horipur Union, Sundarganj Upazila, to support char dwellers in the region.

Implemented by SKS Foundation under the Prodipto Project funded by CARE Bangladesh, the facility will serve as both a marketplace for local farmers and a service center for residents.

It aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of char communities by providing a platform for selling agricultural produce and accessing essential services from government and non-government providers.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was recently signed between SKS Foundation and the local government. Md. Mozaharul Islam, Chairman of Horipur Union Parishad, signed on behalf of the union, while Joglur Rajib, Program Manager of CARE Bangladesh, and the Deputy Director of SKS Foundation signed for their organizations.

Local officials, public representatives, and community members attended the signing ceremony.
