Fugitive death row convict held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has apprehended 
Babul Barua, a fugitive convict sentenced to death for the murder of American 
expatriate Nurul Alam, at Bayazid Bostami Police Station in the city.

Babul Barua, 36, son of Dilip Barua hailed from South Bhurshi Barua Para 
under Patiya Police Station, was arrested by the RAB-7, its Assistant 
Director (Media) A R M Mozaffar Hossain confirmed.
 
Based on secret information, a team of the RAB-7 during its late-night 
operation in Goirla Tek area under Patiya upazila and nabbed Babul. 

He has been handed over to Patiya Police Station for further legal 
proceedings, the RAB official added.
