Youth dies after being hit by train in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) – A youth died after being struck by a train in Palash upazila this morning.

The deceased was identified as Soikat Chandra Dey, 30, son of Uttam Kumar Dey of Paiksa village in Ghorashal. He was also a laborer at Pran Industrial Park.

According to the booking officer of Ghorashal Flag Station and police, Soikat was talking with his phone while walking along the railway track around 11:30 am when the Dhaka-bound “Upakul Express” train hit him.

Locals rescued him in critical condition and took him to Palash Upazila Health Complex, where the attending doctor declared him dead.

Ghorashal Police Outpost In-Charge Yusuf Mia said police recovered the body after receiving the information. It will be handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.
