BRUCSU election roadmap after discussion with students: Vice-chancellor

RANGPUR, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) - The roadmap for organizing the Begum Rokeya University Central Students' Union (BRUCSU) elections will be announced very soon after discussing with students of the university and everyone.
Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali disclosed the information at a view-sharing meeting held at the university's syndicate meeting room on Tuesday.
The meeting was organised to formally inform the journalists and students about the approval of the Constitution and Management Rules 2025 of the Central Student Union and Hall Student Unions of BRUR by the President's order. 
A letter signed by Naima Khandaker, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Education, informed of this approval to the BRUR authorities on Tuesday.
The Vice-chancellor said, "The President has approved the policy of BRUCSU. Earlier, I had assured the students that our policy would be passed by October 31. It was passed before the scheduled time. We now want to give the gift of a fair election." 
He said that various technical preparations will have to be made, including the formation of the commission. 
"However, the BRUCSU elections will be held within this year," he reaffirmed.
Director of the university's Office of the Student Affairs Professor Dr Md Elias Pramanik, Registrar Dr Md Harun-or Rashid, students from various departments and journalists working at the university were present at the event.
