ACC’s top priority is to establish corruption-free Bangladesh: Momen

CHUADANGA, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS) – Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen today said that establishing a corruption-free Bangladesh remains the top priority of the commission.

“The foremost duty of government officials and employees is to serve the public…Our collective goal should be to build a nation free from corruption,” he said. 

The ACC chairman made the remarks at the 188th public hearing of the Anti-Corruption Commission at the Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner's Sahittya Manch.

The public hearing, held under the slogan “Let's build a country together, a corruption-free Bangladesh,” was jointly organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission’s Jhenaidah office, the Chuadanga District Administration, and the District Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee.

The ACC Chairman said that the fight against corruption is not the sole responsibility of the commission, it must be a people's movement. “The more public involvement increases, the faster it will be possible to build a corruption-free Bangladesh.”

He said the residents of Chuadanga must play a leading role in preventing corruption in their district.
 
Later, the ACC Chairman listened attentively to each complaint at the hearing. 

With Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahirul Islam in the chair, Khulna Divisional ACC Director Jalal Uddin Ahmed delivered the welcome speech at the event. 

ACC Commissioner (Investigation) Mia Mohammad Ali Akbar Azizi, Director General Akhter Hossain, and Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Jamal Al Naser also spoke on the occasion.

Additional Deputy Commissioners Ahmed Mahbub Ul Islam and Nayan Kumar Rajbangshi, Upazila Nirbahi Officers of four upazilas, heads of various government departments, members of the District Corruption Prevention Committee, journalists and locals were present at the public hearing.
