KUSHTIA, Non 7, 2025 (BSS) – Former BNP lawmaker Syed Mehedi Ahmed Rumi has said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman introduced the multi-party democracy in the country. 
 
“Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman introduced multi-party democracy and revived political activities of all political parties in Bangladesh after BAKSAL,” he said.

He was addressing a discussion as the chief guest marking the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day at Kumarkhali bus stand here today.

Rumi, also a candidate for Kushtia-4 constituency in the upcoming election, has urged everyone to work together for BNP’s victory.

He called on party activists to set aside differences and focus on the work to woo voters for the victory of the paddy sheaf.

Former joint general secretary of Kumarkhali Upazila BNP Professor Nawab Ali presided over the meeting conducted by former convenor of the upazila BNP Advocate SM Satil Mahmud.
