FENI, Nov 07, 2025 (BSS) - A man was electrocuted in Daganbhuiyan upazila of the district after coming into contact with a leaking electric wire beside his house.

The deceased, Md Ershad, 36, was a fruit vendor from Tajul Saheber Bari in Ramnagar union of the upazila.

"Ershad was irrigating a small pond near his house using an electric pump. A leak in the pump's electric wire caused him to come into contact with electricity, resulting in electrocution," Officer-in-Charge of Daganbhuiyan Police Station Mohammad Wahid Pervej told BSS.

Family members found him lying on the spot and rushed him to Daganbhuiyan Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
