CHATTOGRAM, Nov 7, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain today announced plans to construct 50 important roads over the next year to improve the city's communication and transportation network.

The announcement came during the inauguration of the beautification and development project of DT Road in Ward No. 29, West Madarbari.

Dr. Shahadat said the new roads will enhance commercial facilities and attract investment to the city. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve street lighting and traffic management.

The mayor unveiled a Tk 6.31 crore project to renovate the main road, which included clearing unwanted items, laying bituminous carpeting, and constructing 500 meters of drains, RCC slabs and sidewalks to ensure public safety. 

Under the Green City initiative, 400 meters of road medians were renovated and trees planted. Safety measures, such as road markings, zebra crossings, and reflective "cats' eyes," were also installed to guide vehicles.

CCC Chief Engineer Anisur Rahman and other officials attended the event.
