JHENAIDAH, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed and another injured in a road accident in Patibila Battala area under Kaliganj upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was Rafiq Reza, 38, son of Nabi Newaz of Habibpur village in Shailkupa upazila of the district.

The accident occurred around 8.30 pm on ??the Kaliganj-Kotchandpur road when a motorcycle, carrying two people, fell on the road when rider lost control of the bike. At that time, a truck coming from behind ran over them. 

Rafiq died on the spot; locals rescued the injured Nuruzzaman and took him to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. 

Later, he was referred to Jashore General Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station (Investigation) Mofazzel Hossain confirmed the matter.
