Students should know RTI Act-2009: Speakers

GAIBANDHA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a function here today students must be learned about the Right to Information (RTI) Act-2009 to make themselves as conscious citizen of the country.   

“As a conscious citizen of the country, it should be wise to have knowledge and idea about RTI Act-2009”, they told at a function here.  

They made the comments while addressing an inaugural function of an orientation and Quiz about RTI Act -2009  at the hall room of Gaibandha Adarsha College of the town here this morning. 

Sachetan Nagorik Committee (SNC) that is formed in the inspiration of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) arranged the function in cooperation with Youth Engagement and Support (YES) Group with principal of the college AKM ZargisQuader in the chair. 

Former chairperson of the SNC Professor Mazharul Mannan, chairperson Afroja Begum Lupu, district trainer of     RTI Act-2009 Sarker Shahiduzzaman, cultural personality Shirin Akhter, Afroja Akhter Luna addressed the function among others. 
They also urged the students to groom up with patriotic spirit and to play positive role against corruption to build corruption free beautiful Bangladesh. 

Later, area coordinator of TIB Masud Rana briefed the participants about RTI Act-2009 elaborately through multimedia projector as the resource person. The participants were also taught on how to fill up ‘ka form to get required information from the concerned office. 

Then, a quiz completion on RTI Act-2009 was held and the crests were given to the winners.

More than 300 students of the college, teachers and representatives from different organizations, among others, also were present at the function.
