KHULNA, March 31, 2026 (BSS) – A mobile court has fined a petrol pump in the city Tk 10,000 for illegally stockpiling fuel.

The mobile court conducted drives at various filling stations and oil pumps under Daulatpur and Khalishpur Police Stations in the city on Monday to ensure normal fuel supply and prevent illegal stockpiling.

Executive Magistrate Dipen Sadhak Rony led the drive and inspected fuel reserves, preservation records, and stock registers at several filling stations.

During the drive, evidence was found against Messrs Elite Petrol Supply Co. Ltd. for not selling octane to customers despite having sufficient stock.

The court imposed a fine of Tk 10,000 on the petrol pump under the Weights and Measures Act, 2018, and the petrol pump was immediately instructed to resume octane sales.

Members of BSTI and police of Daulatpur Police Station assisted in the operation.

Executive Magistrate Dipen Sadhak Rony said that the District Administration will continue such drives in the public interest.
