Sewing machines distributed to 30 women in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - In an effort to promote women’s empowerment, sewing machines were distributed among 30 working women in the district.

The initiative was carried out by Sadhana Mahila Unnayan Sangstha, based in Ramnagar, with funding from the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF) Dhaka.

The distribution ceremony was held this afternoon at Sadhana Mahila Unnayan Sangstha’s office in Ramnagar.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shaheen Sultana attended the event as the chief guest.

In her speech, Shaheen Sultana highlighted that women’s empowerment is closely tied to their economic freedom. She stressed that such initiatives, supported by organizations like the Bangladesh NGO Foundation, play a pivotal role in enabling women to become self-reliant and pursue sustainable livelihoods.

The event was chaired by Sabina Yasmin, Executive Director of Sadhana Mahila Unnayan Sangstha, who further elaborated on the impact of the sewing machine distribution.
