FENI, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - Seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed among 1,900 farmers of Daganbhuyan upazila of the district under the agriculture incentive programme to increase the production of Rabi crops. 

The incentives were distributed at a function held at the hall room of the upazila parishad on Monday.

Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Feni, Mohammad Atiq Ullah was present at the function as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Shahidul Islam in the chair.

Upazila Plant Conservation Officer Lutfal Haider Bhuiyan conducted the programme while Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md. Kamruzzaman delivered the welcome speech. 

Fertilizer along with winter vegetable seeds was distributed among 1,900 farmers to increase the production of wheat, mustard, groundnut, moong, lentils, khesari, boro ufshi paddy and hybrid paddy in the Rabi season of 2025-26 fiscal year. 

Deputy Director of DAE Mohammad Atiq Ullah said, "Every inch of land should be utilized for farming, including fallow land, house courtyards, pond banks, and other unused areas."

The government is providing these incentives to marginal farmers to encourage their interest and ensure a greater yield for the coming season.
