
JAMALPUR, Nov 26, 2025(BSS) - National Livestock Week began in the district with the theme of "Local Breeds, Modern Technology: Improvement in Livestock" today.
Under the joint auspices of the District Administration and Livestock Department, Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Livestock Department and Vetinary hospital chalked out week-long programs.
On the opening day a rally was brought out from Foujdari Mor area in the town this morning.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Yusuf Ali led the rally which after parading the main roads ended at Old Police Lines ground.
It was followed by a discussion meeting at old Police lines ground with District Livestock Officer Dr Md Sanowar Hossain in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Yusuf Ali at the meeting said modern technology should be used for increasing production along with ensuring it's quality . He said we should pay more attention in the sector which has more potentiality. He directed the concerned authorities to work sincerely for boost production.
Additional Superintendent of Police Yeahia Al Mamun, Civil Surgeon, Dr Mohammad Azizul Haque, Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture Extension Mohammad Alam Sharif Khan and District Fisheries Officer ANM Ashraful Kabir spoke among others at the meeting.
Marking the week a total of 30 stalls on livestock have been set up at the police lines ground.
