KHAGRACHARI, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth more than Taka 6.31 crore during a series of anti-smuggling operations conducted throughout the month across the Chittagong Hill Tracts and the South-Eastern Region.

The operations were conducted by 13 battalions under three BGB zones, said BGB Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rabiul Islam at a press conference this morning at Logang Zone in Panchhari, situated along the Khagrachari border.

Lt Col Rabiul Islam said that intensified patrols and surveillance across the 540-kilometre border area under the Chittagong Region's jurisdiction have played a significant role in the successful recovery of a large volume of smuggled and illegal items this month.

He further stated that BGB's efforts to strengthen border security and curb smuggling activities are ongoing, adding that surveillance and enforcement measures will be tightened even further in the coming days.
