BOP camp inaugurated in Lalmonirhat to strengthen border security

LALMONIRHAT, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) – The new 'Chaturbari BOP' (Border outpost) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) under the Teesta Battalion of Jongra union in Patgram upazila of the district was inaugurated today.

In order to increase surveillance at the border, prevent smuggling and further strengthen the security system, the new 'Chaturbari BOP' has been set up. 

North West Region Commander Brigadier General ASM Nasher inaugurated the new BOP under Rangpur Teesta Battalion (BGB-61). 

At this time, he said that the BGB, a symbol of trust and security, will continue to work as before to prevent all border crimes including drugs, smuggling, illegal infiltration, and seeks the cooperation of journalists to prevent rumors and propaganda at the border. 

The commander of the Teesta Battalion of 61 BGB, Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh, was also present at the inauguration ceremony.
