KHULNA, Dec 6, 2025 (BSS) - Members of RAB-6, CPC-3, Jashore arrested two fugitives in separate drives on Thursday in connection with two sensational murder cases under Abhaynagar and Kotwali Model police stations in Jashore.

According to RAB sources, Saiful Fakir, 22, one of the key accused in the shooting of victim Shamim Sheikh in Abhaynagar, Jashore, was hiding near the NM Engineering Works area adjacent to Joydebpur, Tongi East Police Station area under GMP of Gazipur.

Acting on the information, a joint team of RAB-6 CPC-3 and RAB-1 CPSRC conducted a drive at 8:20 pm in the area and arrested Saiful Fakir, 22, son of Islam Fakir of Ranagati under Abhaynagar of Jashore.

He was later handed over to Bason Police Station under Gazipur Metropolitan Police for further legal action.

Later the same night, another team of RAB-6, CPC-3, Jashore launched a separate operation based on intelligence that a fugitive accused in the 2012 sensational murder of Akash, 18, was hiding near the railway station area under Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station.

Following the information, RAB personnel conducted a raid at Rupsha Hotel adjacent to Jashore Railway Station at 8:40 pm and arrested the fugitive Md. Alamin, son of Ismail Hossain Khokon of Taltala of Kotwali Model PS, Jashore.

The detainee was handed over to Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station for necessary legal proceedings.
